Published: 2/26/2001

KrasAir has started partner discounts on routes from Krasnoyarsk to St. Petersburg and Kemerovo, as of 20th February 2001, to stimulate traffic in the low season. From 15th February 2001, the company introduced similiar discounts to passengers travelling on the Krasnoyarsk - Vladivostok route. For routes between Krasnoyarsk - Kemerovo and Krasnoyarsk - Vladivostok, the discount for a second passenger is 50% and for Krasnoyarsk - St. Petersburg, it is 40%. According to KrasAir, the Christmas period saw 30 flights undertaken to resorts in Thailand, Finland, Indonesia, Egypt, Spain, Italy, and Philippines, (150% more flights than in 1999). Corresponding revenues increased by 180%, from Rb15.8m to Rb44.3m, over the same period in 1999/2000 - due to increased number of flights. In $ terms, revenues increased 145%, from $0.6m to $1.6m. KrasAir records shows 35% of all charter flights being undertaken by the Tu-204, which was received by the company in 2000. This brings the airline's fleet strength to 2 Tu-204s, 10 Tu-154Ms, 7 Tu-154Bs, 11 Il-76s, 5 Il-62s, 4 Il-86s and 5 Yak-40s. It plans to take delivery of an additional Tu-204 in readiness for the summer period.
