Magadan airline resumes flying after suspension over debts

North Eastern Russian airline, Mavial, based in Magadan, is reported to have resumed flights, following its suspension and seizure of accounts as a result of longstanding debts. According to the bailiff of the Magadan region, if the airline had promptly presented the required documentation to prove that it had paid at least some of its debts, the seizure would have been unnecessary. The documentation was finally presented on 20th January. He insisted that the current debts of the airline, estimated to be less than 1m rubles ($35,000), had no bearing on the seizure.
