Tajikistan government merges state-owned Dushanbe International Airport and Tajik Air

The goal of the merger is to improve the financial situation of Tajik Air which is struggling because of competition from Somon Air; the immediate past general director of Tajik Air claims that privately-owned Somon Air receives more benefits from the government than the state-owned national carrier does (871 words; 4 tables [fleets and route networks of Tajik Air and Somon Air])
