No Boeings just yet for Transaero

Transaero postpones the Boeings and buys Russian

Transaero has announced that it will postpone, from 2001 to 2003, the contract for the purchase of 14 aircraft from Boeing. According to Alexander Pleshakov, Chairman of Transaero, the company has also signed a protocol of intent with the Aviastar plant (Ulyanovsk) to purchase Tu-204 mid-range planes,(www.concise.org 25th August 1999) on condition that they are completely prepared for operation in compliance with the company's requirements. Transaero will receive the first plane in 2001.
