Strong growth from Sibir

Sibir reports nine month figures with a traffic increase of 22.5%

Sibir has reported its results for the first nine months of 1999. Compared to the corresponding period in 1998, passenger traffic increased by 22.5%, while cargo traffic grew by 66%.
The company claims to have broken even during January to September 1999.
Total revenues have increased some 120%, compared to the previous year, from Rb 595.09m to Rb 1309.2m, with revenues from air transportation growing from Rb 527.87 to Rb 1214.1m. Average ticket prices have increased by 48.3% over the period; jet fuel prices have gone up however, by 500%. RPK during the period rose by 21% and RTK came up by 26%.
The company also recorded over a surprisingly high 90% punctuality at its main airports, with the exception of Kemerovo where the figure was 88%.
Total dollar revenues have declined from $83.7m to $54.5m. Dollar revenues from air transportation are down from $74.3m to $50.4m.
Sibir has also added in the period four Tu154Bs and one Tu-154M to its fleet.
