Parcel carrier management changes in Russia

New Russian head for DHL International in Moscow

Published: 10/11/1999

DHL International has appointed Alexander Danilov as its first Russian country manager. Danilov replaces Craig Curphy, who is moving to DHL in New Zealand. Before joining DHL, Danilov was Commercial director for Danone in Russia. He has also worked for the State Agricultural Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and for the multinational confectionery company, Mars. Danilov intends to focus first on operational issues. His experience of Russian government structures should prove to be a significant asset, given that DHL's Russian operation is heavily dependent on several regulators, including the Customs Committee, Transport Ministry and the Telecommunications Committee.
