Volga-Dnepr figures look good at eight months

Volga-Dnepr figures look good ahead of seasonal bulge

Published: 10/8/1999

Volga-Dnepr has reported that, during the first eight months of 1999, its service revenue amounted to $56m, up 15.8% on the corresponding period in 1998. The figure show a good recovery for the airline, which managed to retain its volume in 1998, with falls of only 5% compared with 24% for the sector as a whole (www.concise.org 1st February 1999) due to its highly specialist heavy lift business using An-124s.Although revenues for 1998 overall, were in the region of $100m according to the company, the figure reflects the highly seasonal nature of their business. Volga-Dnepr's traffic breaks down as follows: aerospace equipment - 30%; industrial equipment - 20%; gas industry equipment - 10%.
