Co-production of Su-27 under discussion

Belaurus and Russia consider joint manufacture of Su-27

At a press conference,on August 10th 1999, the Commander of the Belarusian air force, Major-General Serghuey Bulyguin, announced that the joint production of Russia's latest version of its Su-27 fighter is currently being discussed. This would involve the Belarusian Ministry of Defence's Baranovichi Aircraft Repair Plant, in Brest Region, and the enterprises of the Russian military industrial complex. According to Bulyguin, the issue was discussed during Russian Defence Minister, Igor Segueyev's last visit to Belarus, in late April 1999. At present, legislative, technological and engineering issues are being examined.
