New advisor for the FSVT

30 year veteran of Russian ATC appointed advisor to General Director of FVST on airspace use and ATC

The new director of the FVST Andreyev has appointed Valery Shelkovnikov his advisor for airspace use and Air Traffic Control. Valery Shelkovnikov is currently President of the Russian Flight Safety Foundation (FSF). He has an over 30 year experience of work in the Air Traffic Management system ranging from work in the Russian Far East as an air traffic controller to the post of Russian Deputy Transport Minister. Shelkovnikov was important in the development of the current ATC & ASM ventures. As FSF President, he has promoted the development of general aviation. He is a private pilot himself and holds the UK private pilot license. In 1988 he was elected President of Russian AOPA (Interregional Aircraft Owner Association). Valery Shelkovnikov's experience in Air Traffic Control is widely recognized throughout the international aviation community. He represents Russia in the Steering Board of Flight Safety Foundation International. For his contribution to Russian air traffic development, Shelkovnikov was presented with the USSR State Reward and elected Academician of the Russian Transport Academy and International Informatisation Academy.
