Bangladesh in cash deal with Russia?

Cash, not barter for MiG-29s?

Following Concise's coverage of a possible deal between the Bangladesh government and Russia for the delivery of eight new MiG-29s, in a contract estimated to be worth £115m (Concise 7/16/99), fresh reports suggest that Bangladesh does, indeed, intend to pay for the aircraft in cash. This seems an unlikely scenario, given both the state of the Bangladesh economy and the nature of Russian arms sales.
