Ilya Klebanov appointed Chairman of the Moscow Aeronautical Show, MAKS-99.

Ilya Klebanov, the Russian First Deputy Prime Minister responsible for the military industrial complex, has been appointed Chairman of the Moscow Aeronautical Show, MAKS-99.
The air show will take place from August 17th to August 22nd 1999 at Zhukovsky, on the outskirts of Moscow. It is expected to attract 500,000 visitors and around 80,000 business representatives. 350 companies have applied to exhibit and 150 exhibits are expected, including the Russian-made aircraft
Tu-334, Tu-204, Il-114, Il-103 and Il-96T, as well as the Russian helicopters, Ka-60, Ka-31 and Mi-20,
At a press conference to launch MAKS, Yevbueny Shaposhnikov, President Yeltsin's advisor on aviation and space, emphasised the government"s commitment to developing the management infrastructure of the aviation and defence industries. Prime Minister Stepashin heads a state commission on the issue.
