New operator for Mi-34C

Nigerian start training on Mi-34 at Bashkirsky Airlines

Published: 7/2/1999

Three groups of aircrew from Nigeria have been trained to fly the Mi-34C helicopter. According to RosBusinessConsulting, they completed theoretical and practical training courses at Bashkirsky Airlines (BAL) in early June 1999. The airline confirmed that Bashtransgaz is the first company in Russia to have bought this helicopter, for use in production operations. The Bashtransgaz Mi-34C's are operated by BAL's pilots, who so far are the only pilots flying this type of helicopter. BAL expects one more group from Nigeria in the near future, which will also be trained to fly the Mi-34C.
