Russian companies could be involved in the development of A3XX according to feasability report and more!

Russian aviation companies will be able to participate in the aircraft development programmes of Airbus Industries. The Airbus Industries office in Moscow reported that, in co-operation with the European-Russian Aviation Consortium (AERK), it had prepared a feasibility study of Russia's potential participation in development of the super wide body aircraft, A3XX. The feasibility study concluded that Russian companies could also be considered for any Airbus Industries design and manufacturing contracts, in addition to the A3XX project.
Airbus Industries added that it wants to develop co-operation with Russia “using a realistic approach”. Three separate contracts for the A3XX program have already been concluded with Russia, and are currently underway. The exact details of the contracts have not been specified.
AERK was founded in February 1998, on the recommendation of the Economy Ministry, as a common organisation for the co-ordination of Russia's co-operation with Airbus Industries on the A3XX project. The consortium includes companies and institutes such as Aviastar, Gidromash, Tupolev ANTK, NIAT and TSAGI.
Ministry analysts, quoted by Russian news agencies, have called the project a priority for the country's troubled aviation industry and have encouraged the government to make a financial commitment to it.Although the ministry's power to effect deals has been conosderably diluted by the move of responsibility for aerospace to the Space Agency, for incorporation in a larger agency.
The ministry however, estimates that with a 20 percent stake in the project, costing $1.6-2.0 billion, Russia could earn about $1.4 billion annually based on production/sales forecasts of 35 aircraft a year.
The relationship of Russia with the A3XX has not been an easy one over the last two years, with early reports that Mr Mikhail Simonov, Chief Designer of the Sukhoi design bureau, had rebuffed early advances. He considered that he was not being offered enough of the project and that Sukhoi had a viable project, the KR-860 which featured prominently in concept model form, in the Sukhoi chalet at the 1999 Paris Air Show.
