Aeroflot cagey about Boeing delivery

Aeroflot takes delivery of last of Boeing 737-400s

Published: 5/18/1999

Aeroflot, the Russian international airline, took delivery of ten 737-400s on April 30th 1999, being the final part of an order from Boeing. Aeroflot attempted to conceal the delivery from the media, owing to concern that the delivery of US-manufactured aircraft could undermine its image in the context of the NATO bombing campaign in Yugoslavia. In a separate agreement between Aeroflot and Airbus, a further A310 will be added to Aeroflot"s current fleet of ten, under operational lease terms. The aircraft was expected to land in Sheremetievo during the weekend of May 15th
