KrasAir launches new route to Baku

Mixed picture emerges of Azerbaijan destination (114 words)

Published: 9/10/2001

Krasnoyarsk Airlines (KrasAir) has reported that, on 29th August, it started a new Tu-154M weekly route, from Krasnoyarsk to Baku, Azerbaijan. The airline reports a strong demand for the route and has confirmed that it will be included in its winter schedule, which starts in October 2001. The new flight follows two pieces of conflicting news from two international carriers. Swissair claims that it is withdrawing from Baku, owing to a reported lack of profitability, while BA affiliate, British Mediterranean, is increasing the frequency of its flights to London to seven a week on the basis of heavy demand for the connection.
