Published: 1/22/2001

An Air Kazakhstan A-310 aircraft made an emergency landing at Bangkok airport in the early hours of the 18th of January 2001, after catching fire 12-14 minutes into the flight - Kazak TV reports. None of the 150 passengers and crew on the Bangkok-Almaty flight was injured. Apparently, the fire was caused by a tyre problem on the aircraft's right wheel.
