MiG-29 overhauled

Published: 4/24/1998

The Military Maintenance Centre at Bydgoszcz has completed the overhaul of the first MiG-29 of the Polish Air Force. The aircraft started pre-delivery flight tests in early-January this year, and should be back to its unit, the 1st Fighter Regiment at Minsk Mazowiecki by the end of April. The whole overhaul took some 15 months, but in the future it will be reduced to 170 days. It is possible that WZL-2 will undertake the repairs of MiGs operated by Luftwaffe. Negotiations are underway. (MM) (DF498.4)
