Gazprom business for Perm Engine Factory continues to grow with the introduction of the PS-90 derived GTU-12P gas turbine units

(PMZ), partially owned by P&W, order book from Russian gas producer Gazprom for delivered equipment and gas-turbine units has reached 30.4mln rubles, according to Prime-TASS quoting a Gazprom official, Bogdan Budzulyak, According to the Gazprom manager, the company will be repaid in cash and by offset.
In June 1999, the partners of the previous Gazprom program, in which Gazprom invested over $80 million, agreed to the new Ural-Gazprom-2 covering the development, production, delivery and maintenance of gas-turbine units for new generation gas pumping units and gas-turbine power stations. The company will deliver around 400 gas-turbine GTU-12P units, which are based on the design of the PS-90 engine, between 1999-2000. According to Director General of the PMZ, Youri Reshetnikov they will match their Western equivalents, but cost 30-50% less than the current price of $ 3-4.5 m.
Other participants in Ural-Gazprom-2 are Perm-based companies Aviadvigatel (Aviation Engine), research production group Iskra, JSC Star, JSC Motovilikhinskiye Zavody, JSC Kamkabel, and JSC Privod.
