Published: 6/17/1999

On June 11th 1999,the Russian Prosecutor General"s Office indicted Mr Nikolai Glushkov, former Deputy General Director of the Aeroflot, for laundering the company"s money. Mr Glushkov had returned from Israel, after medical treatment, and presented himself voluntarily to Detective Nikolai Volkov, to be charged with illegal business practices and money laundering. He was later released after giving a written undertaking not to leave Moscow, as have Mr Boris Berezovsky and Mr Alexander Kransnenker, the other two individuals accused in the Aeroflot case. The charges state that the three men “ were aware of the illegal money of the air company amassed on an account of Geneva based Andava under their control and used the money in their businesses to launder it with financial operations and other deals."
