Mi-34 sales

Mi-34 sold to Nigerian government by Progress

Published: 5/18/1999

According to reports in the Russian media, the Progress plant in Arsenyev has signed a contract with the government of Nigeria for the delivery of Mi-34 ‘combat" helicopters. The reports claim that, under the contract, six aircraft will delivered to Nigeria in 1999. It is believed that the fully equipped price for lightweight multi-purpose helicopter was $340,000 at the end of 1997 and it has been supplied to a number of customers in Russia, including the Moscow"s Mayor"s office. Concise assumes that the ‘combat" designation refers to the Mi-34P police/patrol variant. The Mil-34 was the first Russian helicopter to undertake a loop and roll.
