On 26th January, the Tu-154B made an emergency landing at Tolmachevo Airport, in Novosibirsk, whilst carrying 111 passengers. The aircraft was flying from Kemerovo to Moscow when a problem with its left landing gear was detected. The aircraft landed without incident.
Elsewhere in Siberia, local reports indicate that Altai Airlines (operator of Barnaul Airport) reported that, on 26th January, the airport was closed for 1.5 hours, due to an apparent unidentified flying object having landed on the runway. An Altai Airlines spokesman claimed that on that particular evening, a “shining UFO” was observed on the runway. An Il-76 belonging to Tezis Airlines was ready to take off, but deciding against this, returned to its parking slot. He added that the UFO stayed on the runaway for 1.5 hours and then flew away.
