Tyumenaviatrans announces successful tender

Tyumenaviatrans (TAT) wins tender to provide helicopter support to Surgutneftegaz for the next twelve months, renewing a contract it has held for some years (123 words)

The contract, according to TAT, could be worth $30m, a substantial increase on the $10m reported for 2000 and the $5m for 1999. It is considered to be the largest contract of its type in Russia. According to Inessa Gousseva of TAT, several other airlines took part in the tender, all of whom were strong contenders. She did not name the participants. While the tender may have been closely fought, Surgutneftegaz does have a contract with the producer for the sole supply of fuel, in a deal negotiated last year, reported to be worth $15m.
