Additional aircraft for Air Kazakhstan

Two 737-200s leased (100 words)

Published: 1/17/2001

Newly privatised Air Kazakhstan has leased another two Boeing-737-200 aircraft from GECAS and Aergo Capital over four years It seems that the aircraft were built in 1985 and 1988, operating within China having flown about 35,000 hours, and between Taiwan/Japan with 20,000 hours, respectively. At present, the latter aircraft is, apparently, being refitted in Almaty for the inclusion of a business class cabin, and repainting. Local media indicates that the lease cost of the aircraft is $120,000 a month, reflecting their age. The addition of the new aircraft brings Air Kazakhstan's 737 fleet to a total of four aircraft.
