Substantial discounts for qualifying travellers

In an effort to boost volumes among the economy travellers in Siberia this summer, Sibir have introduced a programme of new fares to Moscow from Novosibirsk, drawing passengers in from the airline's affiliated companies in Barnaul, Tomsk, Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk. The new tariffs, which have to be bought seven days before departure and are non changeable, join existing special rates for passengers over 60 and for those aged between 12 and 25, which can l bring the cost of an economy seat down by 50% form the normal fare. According to Natalia Fileva, First Deputy General Director of Sibir, the primary market of the airline is business people. They are however, interested in attracting the lower cost traveller not only on vacations, but also from government organisation's whose budgets are more constrained than those working for commercial organisations and therefore improving the load factors. They intend to introduce more budget options in the future such as family fares inline with many of their competitors such as Aeroflot, which have had a developed tariff structure for the budget traveller.
