At the end of June, East Line group finished a $13m project on the modernisation of the on-board food processing facility at Domodedovo airport, known as Domodedovo Air Service (DAS). The facility, built in 1980, has received modern western equipment from Carrier, Amcor, Schrenk, Juno, Rational, Foster and other manufacturers, and has taken 22 months to install. Although the numbers employed at the factory remains the same, at 520, its daily capacity increased from 12,000 to 25,000 food portions. As of July, DAS supplied food to more than sixty airlines, including 40 flying to Domodedovo on a regular basis. Nikolai Tsakh, the director of control department of the central company in the East Line group, said that in the current state the factory is fully capable of supplying high-quality food for both Russian and foreign airlines. He pointed out that the bulk of raw food for the factory is supplied by local producers and that the factory uses only ecologically-pure food components.(IN798.1) (VK)
