Tyumenaviatrans get United Nations contract

TAT get another UN helicopter operations contract

Published: 2/8/2000

Tyumenaviatrans (TAT) is reported to have won another UN tender to operate helicopters in Sierra Leone. Since the beginning of the year, two TAT helicopters have been operating on behalf of the UN organisation in Eastern Timor, Indonesia. The additional contract means more hard revenue for TAT, theoretically enabling it to improve its financial position and allow it to renew its aging fleet. The Surgut-based airline had a difficult year in 1999, but is starting to show signs of recovery, boosted by its international business.
