Forced landing at Krasnoyarsk

An-24 engine problems force emergency landing

An An-24, with over 40 passengers on board, made an emergency landing at Krasnoyarsk Airport. The aircraft, operated by Sibaviatrans, the transport section of a local metal factory, was making the scheduled flight Krasnoyarsk-Podkamennaya Tunguska-Turukhansk. Some 40 minutes into the flight and midway to its first destination, the right engine began to lose power and the crew made the decision to turn back. An investigation is now underway.
