Russian industry struggles to make reasonable representation at Singapore

According to a report from ITAR-TASS, Russian participation at this year"s Aerospace Asia-2000 air show will be severely limited, due to financial constraints. The show is to be held in Singapore from 22nd to 27th February. Alexander Vovmov, of Aviaeksposervius, said that only about ten exhibitors were likely, with only four aircraft involved in the flying display, including the Il-96T, the Il-76, the Mayasishchev M-101T Gzhel and the Yak-42D.
After a reasonable turnout at the Dubai show, this is disappointing for the Russia, particularly as the region is seen as a major market for the industry, with helicopter sales, particularly to Malaysia and South Korea, having been recently negotiated.
