Slow restart for Aeroflot's frquent flyer programme

Since its relaunch in April of this year, the Aeroflot frequent flier programme Aeroflot Bonus, has acquired 15,000 members from over 86 companies according to the company, with 65% of the members coming from Russia.
Clocking up over 110,000 flights, the progamme"s participants have covered 27m kilometres, with one member, a banker from Nizhny Novgorod, becoming the most frequent traveller with 47 flights in 6 months. The most travelled foreigners in the programme are a German and a Thai, the former flying no fewer that 34 times since becoming a member.
According to Aeroflot 41% of the flights undertaken by programme members were in first or business class.
The programme is however, still very small when compared with those of airline's with comparable volumes such as Finnair and will take sometime to match numbers found in the west. It has however, shown some acceleration over the last quarter adding nearly 5,000 of its 15,000 in the last three months.
