Rossiya Tu-134 requires emergency repairs

Russian aircraft attacked in Georgia by automatic fire

According to reports on Russian television station NTV on the 18th of December, a Tu-134 belonging to the government"s airline Rossiya was fired upon while on the ground at Batumi in Georgia. The plane, which flies regularly flights between Batumi and Moscow, was flown after the incident to Sochi in Southern Russia for what were described as emergency repairs. According to the report the plane had no passengers on board at the time of the attack. To date no further information on the incident is available, other than that the Batumi police are investigating.
