Be-200 looks for new markets in Asia

IAPO to show the Be-200 at ASEAN conference in April 2000

Published: 12/9/1999

Alexey Federov, President of IAPO, has said that the Be-200 will be officially presented to the leaders of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) in April 2000 in Kuala-Lumpur. According to Federov, the Be-200 has significant export potential and that talks are being held with China, South Korea and India. This confirms earlier reports of interest, which also cited Indonesia as a potential customer. The first customer to buy the Be-200 was the Russian emergency relief ministry, for whom the aircraft was principally designed. The first of seven aircraft ordered will be delivered in 2000.
