Upgrade for Su-24M

Su-24M to get upgrade as a result of Chechnya according to Sukhoi bureau

According to Leonid Loginov of the Sukhoi Design Bureau, documentation has been prepared for the upgrade of armaments on the Su-24M. Since the beginning of the campaign in Chechnya, Su-24M has made over 2,000 flights. Being used primarily for strikes against fortified positions and to limit redeployment by rebels at night. The Su-24M capable of carrying up to 8 tons ordnance payloads including KAB-500 and KAB-1500, guided ordnance and in Chechnya have been reported as using Zvevda Kh-25, Kh-29, Kh-59 and Kh-29T ASMs against rebel targets. Sukhoi have been offering various Su-24M upgrades for sometime, from simple armament upgrades, GPS, helmet mounted sighting to incorporating the avionics and armament developed for the Su-27IB.
