Early delivery of Chinese Su-30s

Delivery of Su-30s to China could start at the end of year according to reports

According to a report in Prime-Tass, the delivery of Su-30MKKs to China could begin at the end of next year. Under the terms of the contract, China has ordered a first batch of 40 fighters, with an option for more. Previous reports had suggested that 50 fighters had been initially agreed, and that delivery would start in 2002 (www.concise.org. 2nd July 1999). To date, KnAAPO has produced three test two-seat Su-30MKK, which are now being tested in the Moscow region by the Russian Air Force. The delivery is expected to be completed by 2005.
