Emergency landing in Yakutsk

Failure to retract landing gear leads Sakha Avia Tu-154 to make emergency landing

On 1st October 1999, a Tu-154, one of 14 operated by Sakha Avia is reported to have made an emergency landing at Yakutsk Airport, its home base, when it became clear after take-off that the right landing gear could not be retracted. The aircraft, which was carrying 126 passengers, curiously flew for over two hours in order to use up fuel, before landing successfully. An investigation is underway.
