Eighth launch of Topol-M hits target

Rearmament with Topol-M objective for Strategic Missile Forces

The Strategic Missile Forces have confirmed that the intercontinental ballistic missile, Topol-M, which was launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, hit a target in the Kura bombing range, in Kamchatka in Russia's Far East. The eighth launch of the Topol-M according to the military was to obtain further information on performance, systems' operations in flight, and the accuracy of the flight. Commander-In-Chief of the Strategic Missile Forces, Colonel General Vladimir Yakovlev, stated that the gradual rearmament of the Strategic Missile Forces by the Topol-M is one of Russia"s strategic objectives.
